Can this system detect fuel theft when the truck is parked?

Yes. Our sensors are active 24/7. If the fuel level drops by more than 2% while the ignition is OFF, the system identifies it as a "Theft Event" and immediately sends an alert to your phone and the control room.

Do I need to drill a hole in the fuel tank?

Yes, for the Wired Capacitive Sensor, a small, precise hole is drilled to insert the rod. We use industrial sealants to ensure zero leakage. For clients who do not want drilling, we recommend our Ultrasonic or Paste-on sensor options (though Rod sensors offer highest accuracy).

Does it work with my existing GPS device?

Alphatech sensors communicate via RS232, RS485, and Analog protocols. They are compatible with most major commercial GPS brands like Teltonika, Ruptela, and Concox. If you have a basic Chinese tracker, you may need to upgrade to our MCU unit for fuel data support.

What is the accuracy difference between Float vs. Capacitive?

Standard resistive float sensors (that come with the truck) have a margin of error of 5-10% and have "blind spots" at the top and bottom of the tank. Alphatech's Capacitive Rods have an accuracy of 99.5% (margin of error <0.5%) and measure the full depth of the tank.
